These are some street kids in Ensenada, Mexico that I came across when making a stop there, while on a cruise during the summer.
These kids would follow tourists around begging for money, but what we did was we stocked up on cruise food (cereal boxes, apples, peaches, chocolates) and handed them out to them.
The smile on the faces grew so wide for an apple that we would ignore at home, and their appreciation for this was far greater than any dollar could be.
It really made me appreciate the life we live here in North America.
These kids were all younger than six-years-old, they don’t deserve this. But they certainly did not choose this life.
So appreciate the one your living, and don’t ever say “Ew, I don’t wanna eat that.” Because at least you have something to eat!
